Our Story

R. H. Tregoweth are millers, processors and exporters of quality New Zealand Radiata Pine. We are dedicated to providing the domestic and export market with quality timber produced from sustainable Radiata Pine.

We strive to identify niche markets and are focused on providing quality and delivering value to our customers. We supply timber to companies throughout New Zealand and also export to Australia, US, and other parts of the world.

History

R. H. Tregoweth was first established in Te Kuiti in the 1940's as a native timber sawmill by Richard H. Tregoweth. He was a pioneer in the King Country, moving from location to location, processing native logs for farmers and clearing the land. Finally in 1946 he settled at our present site in Te Kuiti. For decades the sawmill had its own bush and logging crews and transported most of its logs and timber. In the early 1990's this came to an end due to economic viability. Between 1992 and 1996 the mill also moved from cutting native timber to solely cutting Radiata Pine. During this time extra processing facilities were built on-site to add value to our products.
